Morobe JV
Canterbury holds 100% of the Morobe Project comprising project areas on mainland Papua New Guinea in Morobe Province (Wamum and Ekuti Range) plus the Legusulum Project on New Ireland.
The Project is being funded by Syndicate Minerals under a staged earn-in agreement whereby Syndicate Minerals has the right up to 70% interest by funding up to USD $20 million of assessment activity.
In Morobe Province Canterbury is targeting porphyry Cu-Au porphyry and epithermal Au-Ag deposits associated with a young volcanic arc that hosts the Ok Tedi, Porgera, Wafi-Golpu, Hidden Valley and Tolukuma deposits. At Legusulum Canterbury is targeting porphyry Cu-Mo-Au mineralisation beneath an extensive area of lithocap development.
Canterbury’s Wamum Project is located around 25km northwest of the world class Wafi-Golpu Project (Newmont, Harmony JV).
Historical drilling has outlined significant gold and copper mineralisation at the Wamum Creek and Idzan Creek porphyry systems, and Canterbury has undertaken Mineral Resource Estimates as follows:
Canterbury has identified multiple opportunities to enhance and expand these resources in proposed drilling programs.
Waits Creek
The Waits Creek area covers an area that has never been drilled, but includes known porphyry, epithermal and skarn styles of mineralisation based on historical exploration.
At the Waits Creek prospect, a large-scale copper-gold porphyry target has been generated, with high order coincident soil, magnetic and ZTEM resistivity anomalies. At Haiya Creek, several kilometres to the southwest, samples of highly anomalous Cu-Au skarn are recorded. Canterbury has completed further surface sampling and mapping to help inform a potential scout drilling program.
The Ekuti Range area covers a well-endowed mineral province. Epithermal gold-rich lodes have been identified along strike of Harmony’s Hidden Valley gold mine where the Kaveroi and Hamata lodes overly an interpreted large scale, metal rich copper-gold porphyry system.

The Ekuti Range area covers a well-endowed mineral province. Epithermal gold-rich lodes have been identified along strike of Harmony’s Hidden Valley gold mine where the Kaveroi and Hamata lodes overly an interpreted large scale, metal rich copper-gold porphyry system.
The most advanced prospects within the Ekuti Range area are Otibanda (mesothermal Cu-Au lodes), Mt Leahy lithocap, Ekoato lode (drill hole EK004 18m at 6.23g/t Au, 13g/t Ag and 0.18% Cu), and the undrilled Yalua copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry.

The Legusulm application area on New Ireland is part of a Holocene porphyry chain that hosts major deposits, including the Simberi and Lihir gold operations offshore. An extensive area of lithocap is preserved at Legusulum with anomalous surface copper geochemistry. The target is a concealed porphyry copper-gold deposit, which will be evaluated once the tenement is granted.
